Chesterfield still had about 22 inches of ice two weeks ago, but some warmer days have opened water along the edges. This has got some nice fish cruising the ice edge looking for a meal. Try tossing them an olive hare's ear or small light olive crystal bugger in size 10 3XL.
If we can ever get more than a few warm days in the sixty plus degree range, we should see this water start fishing well. The big question is what impact did the ice fisherman have on the population. I've heard from numerous ice fisherman that they saw some fish "released" in a manner that wasn't likely to result in survival. These were usually smaller fish being released so that the angler could keep on fishing for Chesterfield's big ones.
