Springfield fished well most of the winter. It can be a very difficult water at times because it gets hit by alot of anglers and some don't follow the law. Yet there are still some very large Rainbow Trout (over 30") and now the IDFG has released several Brown Trout to help check a growing population of Utah Chubs. Still its one of the best waters around.
You can almost always count on chironomids and scuds. Damsel nymphs work well throughout the season. Just remember to adjust size for time of year. Leeches work well in the deeper channels and as the temperatures warm, you will need to be sure to fish the leeches earlier or later and deeper.
